Description

Renthal's Twinring™ rear sprocket utilizes a unique two-piece design. The inner ring is machined from high-strength Ultralight™ 7075 T-6 aluminum, the same material used in Renthal's renowned standard sprockets, ensuring minimal weight and maximum strength. The outer ring is constructed from electro-less nickel-coated steel, providing exceptional wear resistance and a long service life. This outer ring is carefully engineered with minimal material to maintain a low overall weight. The two rings are permanently bonded using an interference fit achieved by expanding the outer ring at 200°C before assembly, combined with a wave pattern to ensure a secure connection. Flat socket head screws further enhance the chainwheel's strength, especially during side impacts, and prevent contact with the chain guide. Self-cleaning mud grooves between each tooth prevent dirt buildup, reducing chainwheel wear and minimizing weight. The Renthal Twinring™ sprocket lasts up to three times longer than a standard all-aluminum sprocket while remaining significantly lighter than an all-steel rear sprocket.
