Description
Designed for the demanding conditions of off-road riding, the Alpinestars SM5 Sail Helmet offers a blend of advanced protection and rider comfort. Its lightweight outer shell is meticulously constructed from a technologically advanced, impact-resistant thermoplastic, available in two distinct sizes to ensure an optimal and secure fit across a range of head shapes. Safety is paramount, with a side shell engineered to couple with soft EPS foam, actively preventing damage to the collarbone during a crash. Both the inner and outer surfaces of this off-road helmet are strategically engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts, reducing rotational forces on the head.
The interior features a multi-density EPS liner, precisely configured to provide the correct density in specific areas for enhanced impact absorption. Rider comfort and hygiene are addressed with an emergency release system and removable cheek pads, allowing for safe and easy removal while the helmet is still on. The 3D contoured foam within ensures a snug yet comfortable fit. A removable comfort liner, treated with Silverplus® anti-bacterial fabrics, excels at moisture-wicking to draw perspiration away from the skin, and is both anti-microbial and washable for lasting freshness. For convenience on long rides, hydration tube channels are seamlessly integrated into the helmet’s cheek pads. The soft textile chin strap, at 26mm, is wider than certification requirements, offering superior safety and comfort, secured by robust stainless steel D-rings. Furthermore, a patented visor release system guarantees the visor detaches with a consistent, pre-determined force, regardless of impact angle, while multiple air inlets and exhaust ports provide maximized ventilation and high levels of heat transfer exchange, with the visor itself designed to direct air into these ports for superior airflow.
