The S&S Cycle 551 Easy Start Camshaft Kit is engineered for optimal performance in 88", 96", 103", and 106" Harley-Davidson Touring bikes. Once the engine starts and RPM increases, the compression release lobe retracts centrifugally, allowing the engine to run at full compression without any performance loss. The 551 cam is a bolt-in solution for stock or mildly modified Touring models, providing a substantial increase in torque where you need it most. This kit ensures reliable performance and ease of installation, making it an excellent choice for enthusiasts and professionals alike. Important to know
This kit is not recommended for compression ratios of 10.0:1 or greater. The installer must check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance. Not for models with OEM compression releases. Can be used with stock pushrods, lifters, and springs (unless otherwise noted).
